Budo Taijutsu is a genuine martial art, the art to adapt to situation and context in perpetual evolution. Practicing Budo Taijutsu allows to truely discover oneself, to be understanding and tolerant, to "discover" the essence of true and natural movements. No limitations on techniques (we study punching, kicking, throwing, joint locks, chokes, nerve points, and just about any conceivable weapon, particularly sticks, swords/knives, halberds/spears, chains/ropes, etc.). Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu is based on Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi's inheritance of nine ancient schools of martial arts: Togakure-ryû, Koto-ryû, Gyokko-ryû, Takagi Yoshin-ryû, Fudo Shinden-ryû, Kukishin-ryû, Kumogakure-ryû, Gyokushin-ryû, and Gikan-ryû. Today this martial art focusses on the modern application. If you want to be able to preserve your life, this is an art for you. Selfpreservation has never been a field in human expertise that could be confined to being able to strike hard and fast. If you want to learn how to protect those you love, you need to study a wide variety of movements and strategies. Come and learn them in our dojo. The teaching of Budo Taijutsu relies on several modules, the first being the Ten Chi Jin Ryaku no Maki (Scrolls of the Principles of Heaven, Earth and Man), followed by the individual study of the respective original nine schools. Dr. Hatsumi's teaching draws its unique strength from three essential basic principles, that every student, regardless of the rank, practices as much as possible: Taihenjutsu, the art of break falling and avoiding sudden attacks without injury; Sanshin no kata, the five basic striking patterns from Gyokko Ryu; and finally Kihon Happo, the basis of all techniques - whether armed or unarmed - and therefore extremely important. |
